Visit Valvoline Instant Oil Change in November to support OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital
From November 1-30, 2022, participating Valvoline Instant Oil ChangeSM service centers across Oregon and SW Washington will be asking customers to donate to their local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital.
Pediatric healthcare is underfunded. Funds raised at Valvoline Instant Oil Change this November helps close this funding gap and positively change the health children in local communities for years to come. A few weeks after his 2nd birthday, Gautam was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). After working with a team of pediatric specialists at OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, Gautam underwent cranial radiation and chemotherapy. He spent the next three years undergoing treatment at Doernbecher, often staying for extended periods of time and returning frequently for appointments with his care team, all with his mother and brother by his side. Over a decade later and now a healthy teenager, Gautam carries with him memories of tram rides up to Doernbecher and watching the Fourth of July fireworks from the hospital windows on the 10th floor. “When I was at Doernbecher, my doctors were very helpful and guided me step by step in every way they could.” – Gautam
